I am currently on parental leave and will return in September 2026.

About Me:

I have been part of the clinical team at the Ottawa Centre for Resilience (OCFR) since 2021, initially as a clinical and forensic psychology PhD intern and currently working as a psychologist in supervised practice under the supervision of Dr. Horvath and Dr. Marquis. Before joining OCFR, I trained and worked in community agencies, school boards, and hospitals across Canada.

I bring extensive knowledge and experience in complex developmental trauma, child and adolescent development, mental health, forensic issues, and learning. This expertise forms the foundation of my clinical practice, divided into three key areas. I conduct a range of psychological assessments, including psycho-educational evaluations, court-based assessments, mental health evaluations, and risk assessments. I also provide personalized therapeutic support to individuals experiencing emotional and behavioural challenges, such as anxiety, depression, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), suicidality, problematic sexual behaviours, and dissociative identity disorder. In addition, I work with children and youth involved in the legal system to help reduce their risk of reoffending. I also provide therapeutic services to families dealing with high-conflict parenting issues. Beyond my direct clinical work, I supervise psychology students at various stages of their academic training, guiding them as they manage closely supervised caseloads and supporting their clinical skill development.

I am also a psychologist who provides Voice of the Child reports, offering children an opportunity to share their views in a safe and supportive manner as part of family law proceedings.

In addition to my clinical practice, I also conduct research. I investigate the relationship between child sexual abuse and suicidal ideation among youth in foster care. I have published in this area and presented my work at national and international conferences.

Who I Work With:

• Children • Teenagers • Parents • Caregivers (including kin and foster) • Families • Juvenile offenders

My Approach:

I strive to create a sense of safety for my clients by using a compassionate, humorous, and honest approach that lays the foundation for growth. Taking a systems approach, I help clients develop and thrive by considering how to incorporate the family and other meaningful relationships into the interventions. I draw on a trauma-informed approach, utilizing various evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and the Circle of Security.

Tools I use:

• Circle of Security – Parenting • Sibling Sexual Abuse Training • FASD Team Assessment Training
